Ann Jones

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Payne officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Jones; parents, Ed Craton and Elizabeth Minor; sister, Patsy Snipes; stepfather, L.B. Minor; and stepmother; Jeanette Craton.

Survivors include her two sons, Charles R. Jones, Jr. (Annette) of Northport, Alabama and Michael D. Jones (Leslie) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; twin sisters, Frances Ellison (Buck) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Doris LaFoy (WJ) of Northport, Alabama; brothers, Lonnie Minor (Debbie) of Birmingham, Alabama and Ronnie Minor (Lolly) of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Jones Yarbrough (Jeremy) of Madison, Alabama, Eric Jones of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Lindsey Jones (Joel Reynolds) of Northport, Alabama and Ryan Jones of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; great-grandsons, Cade and Declan Yarbrough; great-granddaughter, Tallulah Yarbrough of Madison, Alabama; many nieces and great-nieces and nephews and great- nephews.

She worked for The Tuscaloosa News for 32 years as a teletype operator, and graphic artist. After retirement and the death of her husband, she took over his business and operated it until selling the business in 2013. She was an excellent home cook and took great delight in trying new recipes given to her by friends and family. Her raisin bran muffins and herb rolls were legendary.

She was a member of Forest Lake Baptist Church, and was devoted to her church and its members, until her decline in health prevented her from attending.

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Moundville Nursing Home and DCH Emergency Room and First Floor ICU.

Pallbearers will be WJ LaFoy, Buck Ellison, Steven Mitchell, Eddie LaFoy, Jeremy Yarbrough and Joel Reynolds.

Honorary pallbearers will be retired employees of The Tuscaloosa News, and caregivers at Moundville Nursing Home.
