

Annie Jane Kilgore Hinton, age 92, of Brookwood, died April 13, 2011, at Forest Manor Nursing Home in Northport. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2011, at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations with Rev. John Scott officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. A private family burial will be at Evergreen City Cemetery in Tuscaloosa with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
Mrs. Hinton was born February 27, 1919, in Coaling and was raised in Cedar Cove and Brookwood. She was a graduate of Brookwood High School and was a substitute teacher in the Tuscaloosa County school system for many years. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa and Big Hurricane Baptist Church in Brookwod for many years and served as a Sunday School teacher and Sunday School secretary.
Mrs. Hinton was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Hinton, Sr.; her parents, Gertrude and W.O. Kilgore, Sr.; her brother, W.O. Kilgore, Jr.; and a sister, Francys Mallett.
Survivors include her sisters, Aileen K. Henderson and Mary A. Munn; son, C.W. Hinton, Jr. (Donna); daughter, Sarah Scott (John); grandchildren, Melissa Hinton, C.W. Hinton, III, Jeremy Scott, and Erin Scott; five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
The family expresses appreciation to the Station 3 staff of Forest Manor Nursing Home and Hospice of West Alabama for their loving, excellent care of Mrs. Hinton.
