Betty Calhoun Pate

FOSTERS – Betty C. Pate, age 89, of Fosters, Ala., died May 22, 2016. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Grants Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dee and Nettie Calhoun; sister, Mae C. Debardalaben; and brother, James Calhoun. Survivors include her husband of 70 years; Price J. Pate; son, John Pate; daughter-in-law, Peggy H. Pate; three sisters, Dorothy Farmer, B. C. Watson and Shandry Dorroh; two grandsons, Steven Pate and Dee Pate; one granddaughter and special caregiver, Tina Michelle Pate; six nieces; three nephews; and one very special nephew, Joel Dorroh (Lynn Brooks). Pallbearers will be Clarence Sweeney, Ralph Moore, Larry Beasley, Paul Hartley, Ryan Crutchfield, Joe Burroughs and Mark Cunningham. Honorary pallbearers are Marie Hartley, Steve and Sheila Smith, Ricky Smith, members of Grants Creek Baptist Church, Unity Baptist Church Yellow Creek Baptist Church, very special friends, Bernice Hartley, Dot Gore, Eva Harless, and Very Special Mary Jane Woods.
