

Bobby E. Holman, age 72, of Cottondale, died Oct. 8, 2012, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at East McFarland Baptist Church with Bro. Doug Reeves and Bro. Chad Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Linda L. Holman of Cottondale; his sons, Bobby O. Holman and his wife Gayla B. Holman of Anniston, Marcus Holman and his wife Melissa Holman of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Christopher Holman and his wife Jennifer Holman of Ralph; his daughter, Annette Gilliland and her husband Dennis Gilliland of Cottondale; his sister, Doris Banks of Duncanville; and 10 grandchildren.
Bobby was born September 1, 1940, in Gordo, Alabama to Wilson and Addie Mae Holman. He grew up in the Circlewood community of Tuscaloosa and attended Tuscaloosa High School. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, Linda Ann, on November 11, 1961. They were married for 50 years.
He was a loving husband and a godly "Pop" to his children; a loving Grand "Pop" to 10 grandchildren, Patrick and Leah Gilliland, Denise and P.J. Holman, Mary and Liam Holman, and Abigail, Julia, Lydia, and Andrew Holman; and a loving brother. He loved his family and his church, but foremost he loved his Lord.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Black, Ronnie Banks, David Williams, Fletcher Albright, James Banks, Ronnie Morrison, David Holman, and Danny Day.
Honorary pallbearers are the Men's Senior Sunday School Class at East McFarland Baptist Church and Joe Brown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East McFarland Baptist Church Building Fund.
