Carl David Duncan

Carl Duncan, 80, went to heaven on July 12, 2025 at home in Moundville, Alabama. He was the beloved husband of Brenda Moore Duncan of 59 years, devoted father to Tanya Hicks (Phillip), Wayne Duncan (Christy) and Allen Duncan (Jamie), grandfather to Hunter Waggoner, Austin Duncan (Haley), Amberlee Shows (John), Jacob Duncan and Victoria Ryan. He loved his 3 great grandbabies, Karson Duncan, Emory Duncan and Caleb Shows. His niece, Rhonda Baker, who is a big help to the family and special friend, Mike Yeager. Carl has a host of family and friends and will be missed by all that knew him.

Born January 21, 1945 in Hale County, he dedicated his life to State of Alabama Highway Dept. until retirement in 1988. Farming with cows, chickens, dogs and cats and providing for his family was his pride and joy, even after losing his sight.

Pallbearers will be Austin Duncan, Jacob Duncan, Hunter Waggoner, Phillip Hicks, John Shows and Chris Jarrell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Dewey Duncan and Everly Lee Duncan; brothers, Alton Duncan and Marvin Duncan; sisters, Aliese Shepherd, Thelma Emory, and Ola Mae Johnson.

His service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Moundville, Alabama. Visitation will be held from 6pm-8pm Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home.
