Carrie Marciel Burkhalter

Carrie Marciel Burkhalter, age 97, died on May 30, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday June 4, 2021at Memory Hill Gardens, Rev. Rick Mitchell officiating, Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia M. Sanders (Buddy) and one son DeWayne Burkhalter (Jeanne), six grandchildren; Greg Sanders (Polly), Gary Sanders (Angie), Josh Burkhalter (Nicole), Amy B. Thomas (Emmett), Kelsey B. Huizinga (Joshua) and David Burkhalter (Hannah Haas); eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Marciel was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed camping and travels with her husband Bruce and their Airstream Club friends. They saw most of the US in their travels. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and sewing. She retired after thirty-seven years of service in payroll at B.F. Goodrich-Tuscaloosa. She was a longtime member of Holt Baptist Church and almost famous for her caramel cakes.

Pall Bearers will be Greg Sanders, Gary Sanders, Joshua Burkhalter, David Burkhalter, Emmett Thomas and Joshua Huizinga. A special Thank You for all of your love and care to Vickie Hall, Debbie Wilson, Tara Lawley, Barbara Hall and Dr. Regina Harrell.
