Catherine Johnson

Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.

Mrs. Johnson was born on November 5, 1941, in Vance, AL. She was the daughter of the late

Woodrow Sr. and Minnie M. Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years,

Kenneth E. Johnson. She was also preceded in death by sisters Louise Logan and Joyce Gunter

and brothers Woodrow Davis, Jr and Daniel Davis. She is survived by three children, Kevin

Johnson of Millbrook, Kaye Gaither (John), and Kirk Johnson; two sisters, Lizzie Philips and

Myra Davis; four brothers, Gene Davis, Jim Davis, Norman Davis, and Mark Davis; three

grandchildren, Robyn Bailey (Ace), Garrett Butler (Jada) and Chase Johnson; and four great-grandchildren, Grayson, Preston, Lawson, and Molly Katherine.

Catherine was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who embodied the best

qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in

her care and compassion for her family and friends. "A mother is she who can take the place of

all others but whose place no one else can take."
