Chester Lee

Chester Lee, age 81, passed away July 5, 2021 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Dockery officiating. A private burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Mr. Lee was gentle, kind, hardworking, others-minded, and a great example to follow…Christlike. He was a faithful husband, father and friend. He was the former owner of C&B Restaurant of Northport, and a veteran of the US Navy. Chester was a former Deacon and Member of Unity Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, AL, and a current deacon and member at Northside Baptist Church of Calera, AL.

He was preceded in death by parents, John and Ethel Lee; siblings, Thurman Lee, Roy Lee, and Jean Thornton; and granddaughter, Madison Hope Haynes.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Lee; siblings, Wallace Lee and Vera Bagwell; daughters, Dee Lee (spouse Ronnie Haynes), Cindy Kelly and Tina Lee; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Jenny) Bahakel, Josh Kelly (spouse Brie), Tracy LaForty (spouse Shaun), Garret Kelly (spouse Katie), Loren Redwood Truitt (spouse Adam), Elizabeth Lee and Mercy Lee; and seven, great-grandchildren, Grey Kelly, Robert LaForty, Harper Kelly, Zara Kelly, Roman Kelly, Heron Redwood Truitt and Arbor Redwood Truitt.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Haynes, Josh Kelly, Garret Kelly, Grey Kelly, Shaun LaForty, and Heath Meggs.
