Daniel devoted 25 years of service to the University of Alabama, retiring in 1994. The beauty of the UA campus-its flowers, plants, and green spaces-stands as a lasting reflection of his passion for horticulture and quiet dedication.
In 1984, Daniel began Brown's Greenhouses as a small hobby, never imagining it would grow into one of the largest and most beloved greenhouse operations in West Alabama. Known for both beautiful plants and even more beautiful generosity, Daniel kept prices low and often gave plants freely to those in need. His kindness became the heart of the business, and the Brown family came to be deeply loved throughout the community.
Christmas held a special place in Daniel's heart. He took great joy in growing poinsettias and providing them to churches across the area, spreading beauty, hope, and the spirit of the season.
Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved son, Preston Heath Brown.
