

Delores Johnson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 1, 2025, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was born on February 6, 1956, in Saraland, Alabama, to Woodrow and Mary Lou Smith. Delores's life was defined by love, dedication, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Delores lived a fulfilling life, marrying the love of her life, Wallace Johnson, in Tuscaloosa. Their union spanned an incredible 36 years, filled with shared laughter, adventures, and the joys of raising their children together. Delores was a devoted mother to her daughters- Jennifer Vinson, Brandy Levins, Tina Johnson, and Julie Williams- and her sons, Christopher Swinney and Tim Johnson. Her love for her family was boundless, and she poured her heart into nurturing and supporting them through thick and thin.
She was the proud grandmother of many, Skylar Wilson, Michalie Levins, Kimber Johnson, Jakob Ledbetter, Haley Vinson, Christopher Swinney Jr., Joshua Johnson, Sara Vinson, Kayla Williams, and Cole Williams. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the moments spent with them, whether it was traveling, playing games, or simply enjoying family gatherings. Delores was known for her playful spirit and her love of frogs, which became a symbol of joy in her life.
For 30 years, Delores worked as an office manager at Vinson Trucking, where she was respected not only for her work ethics but also for her warm and friendly demeanor. She was a cornerstone of her workplace and treated her colleagues like family.
Delores is preceded in death by her brothers, David Smith and Shannon Smith, as well as her granddaughter, Lauren Swinney. She is survived by her loving husband, Wallace Johnson; her daughters, Jennifer Vinson, Brandy Levins, Tina Johnson, and Julie Williams; her sons, Christopher Swinney and Tim Johnson; her sisters, Patricia Boltinghouse and Diane Keevan, along with her brother-in-law Benn Keevan, and sister Sandra Smith. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
A celebration of Delores's remarkable life will be held on December 20, 2025 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor the memory of a woman who embodied strength, compassion, and an everlasting love for her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
