

Denise Stephens Selman, age 53, of Holt, died Sept. 29, 2010, at home. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Burkhalter officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Sunday night from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Earnestine Stephens; her father, Murphy Stephens; her sister, Gypsy Rivet; and her daughter, Megan Selman.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Keal Selman; her daughter, Brandy Selman (Jan Agee) of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn. and Laura Selman of Tuscaloosa; her sons, Forest Selman of DuPont, Wash. and Chad Selman (Julie) and Trey Selman, both of Tuscaloosa; her sisters, Emily Smith, Lawanda Hollyhand, and Charlotte Guy (Randy), all of Tuscaloosa, and Janice Wyatt of Pasadena, Calif.; her brother, Doug Stephens (Sabrina) of Tuscaloosa; and her grandchildren, Jayden Selman, Autumn Selman, and Ashton Selman.
Denise grew up in Rosedale. She was an alumnus of Holt High School. She was a dedicated caregiver and worked for Estes Glen Haven for 20 years. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and spending time with her family at their river house. She was married for 36 years to Keal Selman. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
Honorary pallbearers are employees of Northport Health Services and Amason & Associates.
