Melanie Dianne (Snow) Jackson, 79, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Born on September 6, 1944, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Dianne was a proud graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School, Class of 1962.
Dianne dedicated her early career to nursing as an CNA at West Alabama Hospital, where she was cherished for her compassion and dedication. Later, she shared her meticulous nature as a bookkeeper with Lang Ray Realty and showcased her interpersonal skills as a licensed real estate agent.
An avid gardener, Dianne found joy in the blooms of her carefully tended garden. She was also an enthusiastic reader, particularly of novels by Nora Roberts, and enjoyed fishing, often recounting tales of the one that got away.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, O.H and Emile Snow. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Howell Jackson, and their sons, Chris, Lynn, Lance (Julie), and Joel (Melissa). She was a cherished grandmother to Alexis, Storm, Alexander (Mimi), Katelynn, Susanna, and Julianne , and a dear sister to Sara Brown.
Her life was also enriched by lifelong friendships with Charlotte Brown Worthy, Pete and Bonnie Johnson, Al and Bonita Evans and Gerri Wright.
Pallbearers include her sons Chris, Lynn, Lance, Joel, grandson Alex, and Storm Jackson.
Honorary Pallbearers include Dr. Anand Pandey, 2nd floor TSICU and Special nurse Lisa Heravi and the 3rd floor ICU Nursing team of DCH.
A graveside service officiated by Larry Morrison will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Backbone Cemetery, 18241 Backbone Church Road Gordo, AL.
