Eulie Dwight Junkin, age 75, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died January 15, 2019. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Hershel Owen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eulie and Maudine Junkin; and brother, Billy Ray Junkin.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Palmer Junkin of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; daughter, Kimberly Junkin Hyche (David) of Birmingham, Ala.; son, Barry Dwight Junkin (Teresa) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; stepdaughters, Amy Berry (Seth) and Stacy Plugge (Rosh); sister, Jean Burkhalter (Ferman) of Northport, Ala.; grandchildren, Jessica (Josh Steward) and Madison Junkin, Austin Boyd, Will and Rachel Hyche; and step-grandchildren, Brandon and Hayden Berry, Averie, Arden, Miles and Adair Plugge.
Dwight retired as Lieutenant after 25 years with the Tuscaloosa Fire Department. He spent many years building houses and later was the Chief Building Official for the City of Tuscaloosa. He loved fixing up tractors, farming at Seldon Rest, woodworking and spending time with family.
Pallbearers will be Gary Junkin, Seth Berry, Rosh Plugge, David Hyche, Devon Horton, Brian Blake, Mike Nix, and Dennis Sudduth.
Honorary pallbearers are Tuscaloosa Fire & Rescue.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alabama Association of Parents of Visually Impaired, www.AAPVI.org.
