Ethel Richards Livingston, 89, of Eutaw, Alabama passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, at home. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., August 28, at Mesopotamia Cemetery, Eutaw, Alabama, with Steve Beeker officiating. Pallbearers are Johnny Madison, Rickey Livingston, Barry Robertson, Rusty Livingston, Barry Livingston, and Beau Livingston.
Ethel was born on February 16, 1932, in Mashulaville, Mississippi. She dedicated her life to her Lord, her family, and friends. She had a natural gift to bring out the best in everyone.
She served as class president of Greene County High School and graduated in 1950. She was always excited to plan a class reunion.
In 1954, Ethel married the love of her life, Claude Livingston of Akron, Alabama and was always very proud to say they celebrated fifty-four years of marriage. Her daughters LeeAnn and Judy were her pride and joy, and she was always their biggest cheerleader.
Ethel dedicated her life to being a Christian, loving wife, and “Mama.” She loved unconditionally and extended grace to all. She was a member of the Eutaw Baptist Church Gleeners Sunday School Class and was on the counting committee for more than 40 years.
She and Claude built United Roofing from the ground up and hired hundreds of residents of Greene County. She had a true love for Eutaw and always wanted it to flourish.
Ethel was a passionate Alabama fan that hated to lose! Her favorite cheers were “Hold ‘em Bama. Hold ‘em.”, “Go Bama Go” and “Roll Tide Roll.” She was always competitive, whether fishing or playing her favorite games.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Livingston, and her daughter, LeeAnn Livingston. She is survived by her daughter Judy Livingston, sister Stella Stephens, best friend Carrie Colvin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all the wonderful caregivers, led by Lisa Eady, that took such wonderful care of her.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Eutaw Baptist Church or the EMT of Greene County in memory of Ethel Livingston.
