Ms. McJenkin was born on October 7, 1927, in Pickens County, AL, to the late Frestus and Leola Acker. She was a loving and devoted wife and homemaker as well as a caring and loving mother to her four children.
A devoted Christian and member of Taylorville Baptist Church, she loved her church and her church family. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with family and friends. Our hearts are broken, but we are comforted and smile, knowing that she is pain-free and strolling over heaven with her Savior Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George Clinton McJenkin, brother Bobby Dwain Acker and grandsons Ronald O. Stewart and Gregory T. Stewart, and son in law John Medders.
She is survived by her daughters Patsy McJenkin Stewart (Richard) and Melba McJenkin Medders, sons Tommy Clinton McJenkin (Lyn) and Jeffery Alan McJenkin (Diane); brother Herman Acker; grandchildren: Christopher Stewart (Leigh Anne), Jasen Skelton (Alisa), Jud Skelton (Jennifer), Hunter McJenkin (Anna), Clint McJenkin and David McJenkin; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
Her grandsons, as well as Colby McJenkin and Colton Stewart, will serve as Active Pallbearers.
The family wishes to recognize, special friends and caregivers, Valerie Houston Webb and Debra Mullenix, The Miller Girls for their many visits, the Members of Taylorville Baptist Church, and the Staff of Hospice of West Alabama as Honorary Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
