

Eula Bell Hannah, lovingly known as “Nanny," passed away peacefully on January 15th, 2025, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at the age of 100. A Graveside Service will be held on January 18th, 2025, 10:00 am, at Memory Hill Gardens.
She was born on March 14th, 1924 to Charles S. Duncan and Mattie Hawthorne Duncan. After her mother's passing, she was lovingly raised by her stepmother, Vera Duncan. Eula was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Woodrow (Lily Dell), JC (Margie), Glen (Earline), her stepbrother Jimmy, brother-in-law John Fincher and grandson-in-law Joshua Holman as well as her nephew Steve Duncan. She is survived by her beloved sister Martha Fincher; her daughters Mary Turner and Sharon Woods (Don); four grandchildren Shane Turner, Leslie Schultze (Tom), Hannah Holman, and Haley Taylor (Ty); as well as seven cherished great grandchildren.
On September 9th, 1950, Eula married Fred B. Hannah Jr. Together they enjoyed a marriage filled with love and admiration, often taking Sunday afternoon drives that became a fond tradition.
A woman of unwavering kindness and gentle spirit, Eula found immense joy in the company of her family. She treasured time spent with her great grandchildren, whether attending their sporting events or playing dominoes and cards together. Family was always at the heart of her life.
An avid Alabama fan, Eula delighted in cheering for her favorite team and enjoyed trips to the beach with her daughters and grands that brought her peace and happiness. Her love for gospel music was a constant source of comfort and inspiration, and she often sang these cherished songs with heartfelt devotion.
Eula’s legacy is one of love, faith, and dedication to those she held dear. Her warmth touched all who knew her, leaving behind memories that will be cherished forever.
