

FLEETWOOD - Evelyn Irene Hallman Morrison of Fleetwood, born June 25, 1925, passed from this life on January 17, 2017 at Hospice of West Alabama. The celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at Memory Chapel with Rev. Chris Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home with Memory Chapel Funeral Home and Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Eugene (Gene) Morrison; son, John Wesley "J.W." Morrison; granddaughter, Stacy Yvonne Crocker; and nine siblings. Survivors include her children, Sybil Sealy (Bennie), Sarah Crocker (John), Donny Morrison (Alice), Sandi Bowen (Ronnie), Sonya Hewitt (Greg, special friend); her sisters, Lille Mae DeWees and Margaret Spencer; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and loved ones. Evelyn was a loving mother and grandmother and always put others before herself. She was a friend to all who knew her. Evelyn had a servant's heart. She was the President of DAVs Ladies Auxiliary for 12 years. She loved the veterans. Evelyn retired from DCH Regional Medical Center. She was also a talented quilter who won many blue ribbons for her quilts at the West Alabama State Fair. Evelyn was well loved and will be deeply missed. Pallbearers are Chris Sealy, Cole Sealy, Harrison Sealy, Brayson Sealy, Jason Morrison, and Michael Osborn. Honorary pallbearers include Forest Manor Nursing Home Station 2 employees, and Linda Dickerson and the social workers.
