

Gene G. White, age 96, of Moody, Alabama passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at McGuffey Healthcare. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Donald Jennings officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Gene was preceded in death by his mother, Zula White; father, George White; brothers, Jerry White, Rufus White, James White, Harold "Skippy" White; sisters, Louise Hicks, Nell Green; wife, Willie White; son, James L. White; nephew, Kyle White.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Jimenez; granddaughters, Regina Townsend (Rene), Madison Fan (Jonathan), Morgan White, Moira White; various nieces and nephews.
Gene Gordon White was born February 19, 1929, to George and Zula White in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He had 6 siblings. Gene married Willie Bell Rice and they had two children, Sherry Diane and James Larry. After high school, he joined the Air Force. He served during the Korean War, Vietnan, and Libya. He received the National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, and United Nations Service Medal. After he retired, he worked at the Veterans Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He served in medical administration until his retirement. When he became bored with retirement, he started his favorite job, working at the Adesa car auction in Moody. Gene loved working in his yard, watching Alabama football, and spending time with his family. Gene was loved by many. Gene attended Park Avenue Baptist in Moody.
