Howard E. Simmons, age 64, of Tuscaloosa, died Aug. 13, 2012, at UAB Hospital. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Richards officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be today from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
His father, brother, and sister preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Rita D. Simmons; sisters, Peggy Frost of Northport and Carol Evans of Sheffield; brother, Alfred Simmons of Buhl; and mother, Margaret Simmons of Northport.
Howard was employed by Phifer Wire for many years and retired from Tuscaloosa Furniture Co.
Pallbearers will be Brian Nickolas, Justin Parker, Cody Parker, Lane Parker, Geoff Weems, and Curt Simmons.
