James & Sarah Odom

James was born September 7, 1926 in Carbon Hill, Alabama. James served in the Navy during WWII and later worked in the beef industry. He and Sarah settled in Liberal, Kansas where he was a member of the Elks, Masons, and Shriners. James passed away November 13, 2021 at the age of 95.

Sarah was born January 27, 1928 in Eutaw, Alabama. In 1946 James and Sarah were married and began their lives together. In Kansas Sarah was active in Needles and Friends Quilt Guild, S.W. Medical Center Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Sarah passed away at the age of 91 on December 20, 2019.

Their children are Larry Odom (Anne) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Sharon Otte of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Phil Odom (Sally) of Yukon, Oklahoma. Grandchildren are April Hargraves (Brian), James Odom, Megan Otte, Jessica Schwarting (Kyle), Jake Otte, Sarah Kanter (Brian), Chance Odom (Casey Jo), and Melissa Hammerschmidt (Brian). They also have seventeen great-grandchildren.

James and Sarah would have celebrated their anniversary May 24, so it is fitting that they be laid to rest on this day in the Garden of Devotion.
