Jeanette F. Martin

Jeanette F. Martin, age 87, of Northport, died Jan. 22, 2014, at Heritage Health Care. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Memory Hill Gardens with Pastor Scott McQueen officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.R. Martin, Jr.Survivors include her daughters, Marilyn J. Hayes (Mike) of Northport and Rubye J. Fleming (Curtis) of Demopolis; son, Marty Martin (Jeri) of Talladega; and grandchildren, Michael D. Hayes, Jr., Craig C. Hayes (Dena), all of Northport, Brian Fleming (Donna) of Arkansas, John Fleming (Dawn) of Mississippi, Julie M. Blake of Birmingham, Shane Kilgore (Lindsey) of Northport, and Jeremy Kilgore of Florida.MeMaw loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved Alabama football and going camping. We will truly miss her chicken and dumplings and fried apple pies. She was a long-time member of Rosedale Baptist Church and loved the Lord. She will be missed greatly by all of us.Pallbearers will be grandsons.The family wishes to thank Dr. Regina Harrell, the caregivers at Merrill Gardens and at Heritage Healthcare Station #3.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society .
