

Jessie Traylor Snider, 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 07, 2021 at Forest Manor Manor Nursing Home. A visitation is planned for Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, beginning at 1:30pm and lasting until the 3:00pm Funeral Service. Services will be officiated by Bro. Jeff Blevins and Bro. Tony Smithson. Interment will immediately follow from Memory Hill Gardens, Garden of Prayer, under the direction of Memory Chapel, a Dignity Memorial provider.
Mrs. Snider was born July 14, 1932 to the late L.A. and Edna Traylor. “A True Southern Lady,” Ms. Snider was the embodiment of class and charm. She loved her family with her entire being and dedicated herself to being a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother. “Mama Jessie,” as she was lovingly called worked tirelessly as a homemaker, making sure that her home always had a welcoming atmosphere, impeccable decorations and the essence of hospitality. She enjoyed flowers and relished in her talent for being able to arrange beautiful floral pieces, as well as utilizing her green thumb, being able to make cuttings from even the smallest scraps, grow to reach their full potential. She was a fantastic cook, being able to make delicious staples of a traditional southern kitchen. A true Christian woman, she was a Baptist by faith, and had been a longtime Member of First Baptist Church, Boaz, AL. While residing in the Tuscaloosa, Ms. Snider made Calvary Baptist Church her home. She loved music and sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class at Calvary.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Snider was preceded in death by her husband Harold Snider, and brothers: Ed Traylor, Wayne Traylor and Rickey Traylor.
She is survived by two daughters Marquita Morgan (Brett) of Greensboro, GA and Patti Slaton (Richard) of Northport; grandchildren Merideth Lett (Ron) of Northport, Casey Slaton (Jill) of Northport and Lesley Peters (Andy) of Atlanta, GA; great grandchildren Anne Elizabeth Thaxton, Martha Claire Thaxton, Katie Lett, Meri Davis Lett, Jessie Cate Slaton, Jack Slaton, John Morgan Peters and Vada Peters; sisters LaRhue Harbison (Kenneth) of Albertville, AL, Dorothy Kennamer (Paul) of Chattanooga, TN, and Earlene Dennis of Guntersville, AL; brothers Gene Traylor (Betty) of Opelika, AL, Arley Traylor of Albertville, AL and James Traylor of New York City, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family wishes to recognize Casey Slaton, Ron Lett, Andy Peters, Jack Slaton and John Morgan Peters as Honorary Pallbearers.
