His presence, sense of humor, and laughter were intoxicating and would fill the room. He would do anything for those he loved and held close to his heart. Jonathan enjoyed spending time with family, playing online games with his lifelong friends he met in the gaming community, spending time at the Farley’s, and riding around in his truck with his music cranked up. Jonathan was appreciative of everyone and everything. He surrounded himself with a core group of supportive people and always looked out for others.
After graduating high school, he started working immediately; however, after a few years, he realized that he wanted something more out of life. Jonathan enrolled in Shelton State Community College and began taking courses towards a degree. During this time, he realized that he wanted to help people in need and decided to major in psychology with a minor in creative writing. Jonathan graduated from Shelton State Community College with his Associate's Degree and a 3.09 GPA. Jonathan was accepted to the University of South Alabama, Auburn University, and The University of Alabama to further his education. He planned on attending the University of Alabama in the Fall of 2024 to pursue his degree in Psychology and was awarded a scholarship for his academic achievements at Shelton State.
Jonathan was diagnosed with a very aggressive AML on June 14, 2024, and finally succumbed to his condition on December 1, 2024. He fought so gallantly and fiercely to fight this opposing foe with poise, resilience, and grace till the end. During this fight, even when he was not feeling the best, he was still concerned about how everyone else was doing and wanted them to be okay. He never gave up and continued pushing while still trying to make people laugh and be happy.
Jonathan will surely be missed, as he was taken at such a young age, and his passing leaves a massive hole in the hearts of everyone he came in contact with. However, he will forever be Bubba, Roo, JonJon, or Jonny to those who were fortunate to have been graced by the presence of this angel.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Kelly Brian Sanderson (Kell Kell) and his grandfather, Richard Allan Brown (Pop).
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Shanette Lynn Dorough; father, Jeffrey Allan Brown; stepfather, Joseph Craig Dorough; sister, Allison Brooke Brown; and sister, Alexandria Leann Dorough, all of Northport, AL; brother, Dylan Giles of Waynesboro, MS; grandmother, Lynn Sanderson of Northport, AL; grandfather, Hugh Sanderson of Waynesboro MS; and grandmother, Lois Brown of Tyrone, GA.
