

Joseph Wayne "Joe" Williamson, lovingly known as Joe, passed away peacefully at his home in Northport, Alabama, on May 29, 2025, just two days before his 79th birthday. Services will be held on June 3, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Kip McKee, Dr. Billy Joy, and Dr. Drew Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born on May 31, 1946, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Joe lived a life marked by deep faith, love for his family, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Williamson and Delora “Polly” Williamson, brother-in-law, James Chapman and his brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Frances Williamson.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Judy Williamson—a milestone he cherished as one of his greatest accomplishments. He is also survived by his daughters, Gina Williamson McKee (Kip) and Tracy Williamson Hallman (David); his beloved grandchildren, Nathan Hallman, Lauren Cleveland (Nick), Katlin Brock (Matt), Rob McKee, Caroline Gant, Kirk McKee, and Chloe Vinson; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Maddox, Evy Kate, and Tyner. He is also survived by his siblings, Ramona Chapman and Marselle Waldrop (Sammy), as well as many loving nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
A skilled and hardworking general contractor for most of his life, Joe was known not only for building homes but for building strong relationships—always ready to lend a helping hand or a kind word. He was a cornerstone of his church community, where he served faithfully and lived out his fierce love for Jesus. His faith was the foundation of everything he did, and he never hesitated to put God first in every aspect of his life.
Joe will be remembered for his quick wit and corny dad jokes, his warm and joyful presence, and his unwavering devotion to his family. He was the life of every gathering, a steady source of laughter and light. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was known to let them get away with just about anything—spoiling them with love and affection every chance he got.
To know Joe was to feel accepted, encouraged, and loved. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a proud great-grandfather, and a loyal brother. His legacy of faith, family, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Hallman, Rob McKee, Kirk McKee, Matt Brock, Nick Cleveland, and Anden Busby.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valley View Baptist Church or Enhabit Home Health and Hospice.
