Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Standifer; son, David Brian Standifer; parents, Raymond and Mary Louise Young; and sisters, Cynthia Ruiz Forne and Judith Giles.
She is survived by her son, Robert Jeffrey Standifer, and his wife, Dana; sister, Andrea Coleman; granddaughter, Faith Burns and niece, Susanna Coleman.
Karen was born in Ashland, Ohio, and moved to Tuscaloosa as a child. She graduated from the University of Alabama and was a member of Holt United Methodist Church, where she taught children’s Sunday school for over 50 years.
Services for Karen will be held at a later time.
