Kathy McDaniel

Kathy Sue McDaniel, age 54, of Tuscaloosa, died Aug. 14, 2011, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations with Rev. Arlis Barksdale officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Early Sanders and Nancy Jane Sanders; parents, Obic Cornelius McDaniel and Earline Elizabeth McDaniel; nephew, Richard "Ricky" Watts; and brother-in-law, Brady "Buddy" Watts.

Survivors include her sisters, Mary Alene Nelson (Kenneth) of Tuscaloosa, Betty Watts (Horace) of Moundville, and Peggy Wedgeworth (Ronnie) of Fosters; brother, Willard D. McDaniel of Akron; and various aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Kathy lived a long, happy life, which touched the lives of many people with her pure soul and will be remembered as a blessing to our family. She will be truly missed by all that have been blessed by knowing her. We're so thankful for our time that we had with you, for you were an angel on earth and now an angel in heaven.

Pallbearers will be Danny Garner, Jr., Wally McMillan, Spencer Nelson, Jacob Stevenson, Rick Stevenson, Darrel Watts, Mike Watts, and Neal Watts.

Honorary pallbearers are doctors, nurses, and staff of Alacare, Colonial Haven, DCH, Hospice of West Alabama, Noland Hospital, and Park Manor; Dr. Regina Harold, NorthStar Paramedics, Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue, Frances Shelton, Sylvia Milnor, and Rachel Zelkowski.
