Kenneth Walter Acker

Ken graduated from West End Christian School class of 1984. He got his associates degree from Shelton State Community College in 1989 and attended University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He had a career in life insurance business, he was a member of Alabama High School Athletic Association, he umpired and refreeded High School Jr. High softball, basketball, and football games. As well as through Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation for elementary grades. His delight was to be with these players as often as he could. Growing up he attended First Baptist Church where he participated in various programs. When a senior in High School, he won first place in the Alabama Baptist essay competition. He was a member of the West End Christian band.

He is preceded in death by his father, William Walter Acker, Jr.; grandparents, William Walter Acker, Sr. and Claudie Skinner Acker and Howard Taft and Loraine Garrison Casey.

He is survived by his mother, Elaine Casey Acker; brother, Dale Casey Acker (Tammie), niece, Hailey Acker and pet dog, Bama; James Acker (Barbara) Acker, H.L. Casey (Pat), Peggy Albritton, Nancy Wilkerson (Raleigh), and Jim Casey (Vicky).

Pallbearers are Trevor Chamblee, Gage Matthews, Jimmy Acker, Scott Weeks, Reg Albritton, Terry Cagle, Pat Roberts, Brian Turner, Dale Acker, Pat McGilberry, Eddie Garrison, David McCuthin, and Chad Shaw.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Smithson, Randy Allen, and Terry Cagle.

A visitation for Kenneth will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405. A burial will occur Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery, 909 Lincoln Road Montgomery, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
