A memorial service for Lena will be held Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Skyland Baptist Church, 3320 Skyland Boulevard East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A memorial visitation will occur one hour prior at the church. Rev. Jon Wiggins of Skyland Baptist Church will be officiating the service. Arrangements were made at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider.
Lena is survived by; daughters, Lynn Higginbotham, Mary Durrett (Kenneth), and Missy Sartain; grandsons, Rhyan Higginbotham, Jon Sartain, Grant Sartain, Adam Sartain and Luke Sartain.
Lena was preceded in death by her husband Carl M. Higginbotham, Jr.; parents, Ocie and Henry Collins.
Lena or better known as “Granny” was a devoted military wife, loved her daughters very much and absolutely loved and adored her grandsons. She loved to watch westerns, WWE Raw, NASCAR and Alabama football.
The family suggest that in lieu of flowers that a donation should be made to a charity of your choice.
