

TUSCALOOSA - Lollie Beatrice "Bea" Caldow, age 92, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Vernon officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Roger Caldow; father, Roland S. Williams; mother, Annie B. Williams; sister, Melba Williams; and brother, Donald Williams.
Survivors include her son, Stephen Caldow (Sally); daughter, Carla Cowan (Tommy); sister, Imogene McCrory; brother, Roland Williams; grandchildren, Lisa Butler, Stephanie Eichelberger, Lindsay Flinn, John Caldow, Matt Cowan; and great-grandchildren, Caroline Baird, John Davis Baird, Cooper Bonilla, and Gabby Bonilla.
Lollie, or "Bea" as she was known to many, was born May 22, 1925 in Greensboro, Alabama. She was a graduate of Greensboro High School class of 1943. She was an employee of Bryce Hospital for 15 years. She married John Roger Caldow on April 2, 1945 and built a life together for 62 years.
She was a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church of Greensboro, AL and attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa where she enjoyed being a member of the Winsome-Faith Sunday School Class.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and shared a very special bond with her brothers and sister. More than anything, Bea loved surrounding herself with family and cherished her role as mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook, an avid reader and enjoyed time spent in her flower garden.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, John Caldow and Matt Cowan, great-grandsons, John Davis Baird and Cooper Bonilla, Steve Butler, Brad Flinn and Chase Lenahan.
