Lucille Garner

Lucille Garner, age 84, of Cottondale, went to be with the Lord Aug. 10, 2012, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Little Hurricane Baptist Church Cemetery with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Lee Garner; sisters, Francis McGee, Lorene Jones, Jenny Garner, and Flora Lee Herring; daughter, Edna Faye Garner; and son, Donald Lee Garner.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Diane Reach (Jerry) of Missouri and Wanda Lucille Woods (Ron) of Tuscaloosa; sons, Michael Leon Garner (Patty), James Dennis Garner (Debi), Gerald Lynn Garner (Melissa), and Joel Stephen Garner (Angela), all of Tuscaloosa; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Lucille Garner was a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa County. She was a loving mother of eight children and was a very-loved grandmother of many. She loved to quilt, crochet, and read.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Garner, Kevin Garner, Michael Garner, Tony Skelton, Matthew DuBose, Garrett Woods, Eddie Garner, and Daniel Garner.

Honorary pallbearers are Grady Reach, Patrick Reach, Wesley Minor, Wendall Dailey, Brian Garner, Rodney Garner, Larry Garner, Stan Garner, Alan Garner, Freddie Garner, Richard Garner, Carl Logan, Bobby Andrews, Kenny Herring, Gale McGee, Murray McGee, and Michael McGee.
