Mary Cornelia Collins

Mary Cornelia Collins, age 93, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died December 20, 2016, at home. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 24, 2016, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Brandon Pinion and Bro. Ken Cheek officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Collins; and sisters and brothers, Lola Mae Hartley, Willie Bernice Ray, Searcy Weston Meggs, Etheridge Meggs and Russell Meggs.Survivors include her daughters, Gloria C. Keller, Mary Charlene Myers and Deborah "Debbie" Marie Abston; sister, Janie D. Whitley; and grandchildren, Blake Abston, Haley Abston, Danny Keller, Chuck Keller, Scott Myers and Andrea Myers. Mary taught preschool at West End Christian in Tuscaloosa. She taught preschool at West End Christian for 24 years. She was known for her absolutely wonderful homemade bread, delicious bread and was always available for anyone to enjoy and friends were always welcome in her home.Pallbearers will be Dan E. Keller, Gary E. Myers, Allen Abston, Chuck Keller, Blake Abston Danny Keller and Scott Myers.Honorary pallbearers are visits from DCH Homecare which were very beneficial, Dr. Jennifer L. Burdette, Dr. Halli-Tierney, Amedisys caregivers and Hospice Care.
