

Mary Criss Rice, age 82, of Braselton, Ga., died November 16, 2017, in Mobile, Ala. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Wesley Weatherford, Pastor Chad Smith and Pastor Travis Criss officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Saturday, November 18, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marion F. Rice; parents Dane and Margie Criss; sisters, Mable Sims, Sarah Sims, Hazel Green and Imogene Maharrey; brothers, Dane Criss, Jr. and Connie Criss; great-grandsons, Blake McKinney and Peyton Oreilly; and granddaughter, Nancy Leigh Rice.
Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Rice, Katrina Rice Baker, Ericka Rice Oreilly, Heather Rice and Stephanie King (Paul); sons, Slayton Rice (Charlotte) and Darren Keith Rice; brother, Travis Criss (Wanda); grandchildren, Jonathan McKinney (Teressa), Chris McKinney (Shannon), D. J. McKinney (Melinda), Alexis McKinney, Warren Steelman (Ashley), Tabitha Hayes (Shane), Slayton Rice III (Ryan) Kevin Rice (Lindsey), Tracy Criss (Marcie) and Patti Garland; great-grandchildren, Chris Allen (Anna), Summer Allen, Skylar McKinney (Leighann), Jake McKinney, Gavin McKinney, Andrew McKinney, Aubrey Oreilly, Piper Oreilly, Collin Rice, Christian Rice, Ava Rice, Claira Rice, Hunter Hayes, Ashlynn Hayes, Brooke Steelman, Allen Steelman, Hallie Steelman, Alex Smith, Tyler Weatherford, Bayleigh Criss, Matthew King, Hannah King and Josh Garland; great-great-grandchildren, Harleigh McKinney, Aubrey Claire McKinney and Noah Ledbetter; and beloved nieces and nephews.
Mary Rice, 39 forever, AKA Lamb Chop, Fast Freddie, Aunt Mary, Techno Grandma, Tubby, Grandma and most notable as ""GG."" Whatever name you may have known her by, you knew that she was a loving, caring, family woman. She was a devout follower of her Lord Jesus Christ through her entire life. She was also a faithful, loving and supportive wife for over 32 years.
She was the rock of her family and the cornerstone of her church and community. She brightened the lives of every person she met with her sarcasm, sense of humor, quick wit and feisty temperament. One way or the other you always knew how she felt about you.
Her ultimate desire was that everyone she knew or cared about should live their life to the fullest and live their life for Jesus. The legacy and heritage that she left has left an indelible mark on all of you hearts.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan McKinney, Chris McKinney, D. J. McKinney, Slayton Rice III, Kevin Rice and Skylar McKinney.
