Rachel is survived by her fiancé, Jonathan Spingola; her brother, Noah Hammonds (Cheyenne); her parents, Wayne and Charlene Hammonds; and her nephew, Jude Hammonds. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Jean Stone.
Rachel was unique. Once you got to know her, you would never forget her. In elementary school, she was a warrior for Jesus and served God through singing and telling anyone she met about His goodness. In high school, she was involved in volleyball, choir, and theater while continuing to be an active member of her youth group. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and tutored ELL (English Language Learners) in town and overseas. She truly enjoyed helping others become fluent in English and find their voice. Throughout her life, her voice and song connected people. Rachel, you will not be forgotten. We will miss you.
The pallbearers are Noah Hammonds, Jonathan Spingola, Larry Hammonds, Michael Johnson, Steve Johnson Jr., David Barnett, and Samuel Drake.
