Robert Lee Standifer

Robert Lee “Bobby” Standifer, aged 88, left this life on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Bibb Medical Center Nursing Home in Centreville. Burial will be at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Memorial Services to be scheduled at a later time.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Porter L. Standifer and Mattie Sue Church Standifer, brother, James T. Standifer, Sr., sister Katherine DeVasher, and his son David Brian Standifer.

Bobby is survived by his wife Karen Young Standifer, son Robert Jeffrey Standifer (Dana) and granddaughter Faith Elizabeth Standifer.

Bobby was born in 1935 in Holt, Alabama. He was a Sergeant Medic in the Alabama National Guard, and attended the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Million Dollar Band. He was a life-long member of Holt United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir. Bobby retired from B.F. Goodrich after 41 years as a Machinist and Millwright. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and played the saxophone in the 5th Alabama Regiment Band. He loved playing old hymns on his saxophone and particularly enjoyed “In the Garden” where we are sure he’s now walking with Jesus.
