
MOUNDVILLE – Rosie Louise Bates Wright, age 81, died April 6, 2017 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Koster officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Garden with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memory Provider directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Judson F. and Lois Bates; a brother, Clarence Bates and her beloved husband, Robert K. Wright. Survivors include her daughters, Linda W. Wedgeworth (David) of Centreville, Texas, Mary W. White (Mark) of Tuscaloosa, Kathy W. Davis (Jeff) of Tuscaloosa, Reba W. Tidmore (David) of Moundville, Ala.; son, Robert M. Wright of Knoxville, Tenn.; sister, Rachel Taylor Crump; brothers, Charlie Bates (Margaret) of Greensboro, Ala. and Thomas F. Bates of N.C.; grandchildren, Cheryl Reid (Marty), Shannon Harper, Jeremy Wright, Jon-Caleb Wright (Danya), Jason White, Matthew White, Jennifer Stokes (Dan), Amanda Billings (Chais), Kalyn-Wright Davis (Anna), Ashley Bowers (Chase), Powers Tidmore (Blakley) and Allen Tidmore (Kasi); 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Louise was born in Hale County, Ala., where she met the love of her life when carrying a pail of well water. They were married shy of 65 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother. She devoted her life raising her family and serving God. A hungry mouth never left her house. She was a wonderful cook. She loved Alabama football and sharing roll tide along with a good game of dominoes. One of her greatest joys was family gatherings for Sunday dinners and holidays. In her later years, she enjoyed visits from family, television, the Gaithers music and bible study. Pallbearers will be Kalyn-Wright Davis, Allen Tidmore, Powers Tidmore, Dawson Stokes, Dan Stokes, Jason White, Tommy Taylor and deployed pallbearer, Chais Billings. Honorary pallbearers are her loving caregiver, Angela Childs-Carter, Toney Davis, Joe Barnes and Dr. Larry Skelton and staff.
