Roy Charles Stevens passed away at Moundville Health and Rehab in Moundville, AL, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the age of 53. Roy was born February 12, 1972, in Tuscaloosa, AL, and grew up in Moundville, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd Jackson Sr. and Winnie Mae Stevens; his sister, Jackie Latner; his brother, Boyd Jackson Stevens, Jr.; nephew, William “Dude” Tipper; and nieces, Tammy Reynolds and Beth Latner.
Roy is survived by his sisters, Barbara Ann Wilson, Linda Joyce Tidmore (Bobby), and Carolyn Beckham; and by his nephews and nieces, Mitch Stevens (Angie), Christy Stevens, Angela Lindsey, Misty Tipper, Rodger Tidmore (Donna), Donny Beckham, Brian Beckham, Diana Jacobs, and Lee Latner. He also leaves behind a multitude of great-nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Roy was the youngest of five children—and the baby of the family through and through. To know Roy was to love him. Wrestling was his passion; he knew everything there was to know about it. He had likely seen every wrestling match ever made. He flexed his arms like Hulk Hogan, waved his hands like John Cena, and wore glasses like Bret Hart. Roy could name every wrestler and their signature moves. He could play an air guitar and belt out Elvira like no one else. He loved to flirt—complete with a wiggle of his eyebrows and a mischievous smile.
Roy is now rejoicing in heaven with all those who went before him—and for all we know, Hulk Hogan himself is up there teaching Roy a few body slams.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 29, from 6–8 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Ivah Church in Marion, AL, with Brother Chris Crawford officiating.
Pallbearers include Mitch Stevens, Angie Stevens, Aleice Stevens, Nathan Stevens, Gavin Sparks, Bobby Tidmore, Brandon Hinson, and Brother Chris Crawford. Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Moundville Health and Rehab in Moundville, AL, and Southern Care Hospice of Demopolis, especially Nurse Anna Freeman.
Flowers may be sent to Memory Chapel Funeral Home, or donations may be made to Moundville Health and Rehabilitation. Roy’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
