

Ruby Browning Justice, age 90, of Leland, N.C., passed away January 20, 2025 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 in Oleander Memorial Gardens located at 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, N.C. with Rev. Adam Brinkley officiating. A reception will follow the burial.
Mrs. Justice was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Jackson Justice; parents, David and Ferrell Browning; and brother, J.D. Browning.
She is survived by her sons, David Edward Justice (Terri) of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Gary Dwight Justice (Rebecca) of Supply, N.C.; sister, Katie Browning Brinkley (Eston) of Fort Fisher, N.C.; and grandchildren, Nicholas Justice of Supply, N.C., Madison Justice Turner (Colby) of Troutman, N.C., and Cole Justice of Supply, N.C.
Ruby was born in Johnson County, N.C. and graduated from New Hanover High School. She married Jack Justice and they had two sons, David and Gary. Ruby worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. and earned full retirement as a personnel manager in Raleigh, N.C. Soon after retiring from Sears, Ruby went to work for the Medical Faculty Practice Plan for the University of North Carolina Medical System where she earned full retirement.
Ruby and Jack retired to Leland, N.C. so they could be closer to their family, especially their grandchildren, Nicholas, Madison and Cole. Ruby was an active volunteer with her neighborhood association, her church and various Wilmington area charitable organizations.
Ruby will be sorely missed but her family rejoices that she is in heaven with her beloved Jack.
