He leaves behind the great loves of his life: his wife of 39 years, Lisa Hunt; his daughters, Page Hunt, Landon Hunt Ballard (Stephen), and Kersey Hunt; and his three granddaughters, Pepper Gray Ballard, Rumer Hunt Ballard, and Goldie James Ballard. He is also survived by his sister, Janis Franklin, and two special cousins, Sherry Hunt Wyatt and Terri Hunt Schryer.
Rusty was a fourth-generation logger and the proud owner of Rusty Hunt Logging. He took great pride in his work and the legacy he carried on.
He was a strong man of faith and walked in it daily. Rusty was a devoted member of Church of the Highlands and loved his church and church family deeply.
There are no words to fully describe the loss of this precious man. He was loved by so many and, in return, loved his family and friends with his whole heart. There is no doubt he is now walking the streets of gold.
Until we meet again, we will carry you in our hearts forever.
Pallbearers: Stephen Ballard, James Buffer, Joey Franklin, John Hutchins, Junior Shuttlesworth, and Derek Wyatt.
Bubba Massey will officiate the graveside service on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Memory Hill Gardens. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 PM at Rusty’s home. It was Rusty’s wish that everyone who loved him—and who loves his family—would come together to surround them and celebrate the incredible life he lived.
