Samuel “Sam” Herbert Pierson, 79, of Brookwood, passed away on January 15, 2021, at DCH. There will be a Private Graveside Service held at Johntown Cemtery. Memory Chapel, a Dignity provider is honored to be entrusted with final arrangements.
Sam was born April 5, 1941 to the late Samuel Prude and Bertha R Pierson. Affectionately known as “Herb”, he was loved and respected, a hard worker, he always put the needs of his family above his own. He enjoyed farming and enjoyed time with his horses and cows, and was especially fond of his dog “Little Man.” He was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide Sports and especially loved his Crimson Tide Football.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Arzelle Walker and two brothers in law: Jimmy Pratt and Wayne Gregg.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine Pierson; daughter Miracle Davis (Heath Startley); sons Tony (Vikki) Pierson and Jeff (Anita) Pierson; sisters Shirley (James) Burnett, Peggy Pratt, LaShawn Gregg and Joanne Barger; brothers Ed (Judy) Pierson, Glenn (Gaynell) Pierson, Donnie (Kathy) Pierson and Mike (Beth) Pierson; grandchildren: Britiany (Josh) Perkins, Joseph (Nicole) Pierson, Chessie (David) Fuller, Shekinah (Curtis) Coen, Charity (Cody) Galvez; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
