Steve William Johnson

A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM, on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 PM from Memory Hill Gardens, with Bro. Keith Pugh, Bro. Ray Hallman and Bro. Eddie McKnight officiating. Funeral services will be conducted under the direction of Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity provider.

Mr. Johnson was born November 28, 1951, to the late Virgil Lee Johnson and Earlean Bryant Henderson He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and Paw Paw, who loved the Lord with all his heart. His passion was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Steve loved Alabama Softball, football, and eating at Wright’s Restaurant. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother James Johnson, his grandparents, Jesse and Pearl Bryant, and his grandson Brandon Scott Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Kathy Johnson; children: Michael (Sandy) Johnson, Diana Bailey, Melissa Jones and Steve “Bubba” (Kim) Johnson, II; brother Billy Johnson; sister Barbara Deerman; grandchildren: Christopher Boyd, Randa Miles, Hayleigh Jones, Katelyn Averett, Dustin Curington, Brandon Johnson, Dalton Bailey, Katie Johnson, Phillip Stringham, Taylor Stringham, Lynsey Johnson, and Cooper Johnson; great-grandchildren: Presley Miles, Rayleigh Averett, Hayden Jones, Faith Boyd, Jeslyn Averett, and Kellen Averett.

Serving as Active Pallbearers will be: Bill Deerman, Michael Miles, Jessy Averett, Dustin Curington, Brandon Johnson, and Dalton Bailey. The Mayo Clinic of Jacksonville, FL, Hospice of West Alabama, Dr. John Warren, and Staff at Internal Medical Center and Duncanville Baptist Church will be recognized as Honorary Pallbearers.
