Thomas "Tom" William Jones

He is preceded in death by his mother, Pearl B. Jones and father, Grady C. Jones; brothers, Col. Grady F. Jones and Majure Jones.

He is survived by his spouse, Mary Alice Lyons Jones of Tuscaloosa, AL; daughter, Katrina Williams (Mitchell) of Buhl, AL; son, Ken Jones (Kathy) of Northport, AL; brother, Ferris Jones (Rosa) of Fernandina Beach FL; grandchildren, Katie Owens (Chad) of Northport, AL, Morgan Hulsey (Adam) of Northport AL, Joe Williams of Denver, CO, Brian Rubio (Meagon) of Hoover, AL, Kevin Jones of Huntsville, AL and 4 great-grandchildren.

Tom was born in 1933 in Elmore County, AL. He was a graduate of Weogufka (AL) High School and the University of Alabama with a MA in Education. He was a veteran of the US Army. Tom retired after 25 years of service as Director of UA Student Financial Services. He and his wife, Mary, enjoyed traveling, Alabama sports, and spending time with family.

Pallbearers are Haywood Robbins, Keith Jones, Chad Owens, Joe Williams, Brian Rubio, Adam Hulsey, and Kevin Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Leonard Jones and staff of Tuskaloosa Internal Medicine, staff and residents of North River Village Assisted Living, members of Dr. Hayse Boyd's Good Samaritan Sunday school class of FBC, Tuscaloosa, AL, current and former staff of UA Student Financial Student Services.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home 2200 Skyland Blvd E, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405 from 1-2 PM with a graveside service to follow in the adjoining cemetery, Memory Hill Gardens, at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to First Baptist Church Tuscaloosa, AL.
