Thomas West

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Forney West; and sister, Bittie Ellen Gooch.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rosa West; son, Nathan West (Dusty Odom); sister, Ersell Kelso; and grandchildren, Gavin West and Abby Odom.

Dad was a man who felt more at home on the water or in the woods. At sunrise, you could find him casting a line across a lake or river or walking in the woods at dawn.

Fishing and hunting weren't just hobbies to him - they were moments of peace and lessons waiting to be passed down.

His greatest joy wasn’t found in the outdoors, It was found in his grandson, Gavin. Teaching him how to bait a hook, sharing stories and watching his eyes light up with excitement. Those were the moments he treasured the most.

Strong and full of love, he measured life not by the fish he caught or by the deer he tracked, but by the memories he created and the legacy he left in his wife Rosa, son Nathan and grandson, Gavin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gavin West, Scott Barton, Blake Crossley, Bradley Dinning, Jacob Spradlin, and the doctors and nurses of MICU DCH Regional Medical Center.
