A graveside funeral service, with military honors, will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020, at 11:00 am from Pondville Cemetery near Brent, AL, with Bro Jimmy Lavender officiating.

Mr. Yates is survived by his wife Connie B Yates of Brent, AL; son Nathan A Yates (Denise A) of Northport, AL; granddaughter Emery A Yates; brother Dr. Ron Yates of Duncanville, AL, mother in law Franzeen Detrick of Brent, AL; brother in law Jim Detrick (Linda) of Batesburg, SC; nieces Gracie Yates of Brookwood AL, and Jennifer Stokes (Levi) of Elam, SC; and nephews: Shane Yates (Patricia) of Duncanville, AL and Brandon Yates (Jessica) of Gordo, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents Travis and Ree Yates and his father-in-law Jimmy Detrick.

Thomas served for 20 years in the United States Navy and retired as SCPO. He leaves behind many friends and a loving family who will miss him dearly. For the Lord has taken him home, so until we meet again we will carry you in our hearts.
