I remember the wonderful man he was. I was very honored to call him my grandfather. He raised very great children and one of those great children happens to be my father. Although, I do not have many memories with my grandfather I will always and forever cherish the ones that I do have. I loved him very much and will continue to miss him every day. I know that he wants me to be happy       .and keep on living my life. He always told me that he loved and me and that I so beautiful 

I have never forgotten Tommy Logan. He was part of my family, for a short time. But a part of my heart, forever and to this day. I vividly recall the day when I was just a little girl, visiting my cousins in Buhl, AL.
My Uncle Homer had what I would call a race track in his backyard for us to play on. Complete with junk cars, and motorcycles. I recall Tommy Lee helping me get on this small motorbike and telling me " You can do it! Just hold on". You would have to realize that I was born with one hand and this was my first attempt at ever trying to ride. HE made it happen. Unbeknownst to us, the accelerator stuck! I had no idea how to slow down or get off.  Pine trees ahead.... This wonderful man, with his soft voice and gentle demeanor, screamed at me once, screamed at me twice, to run into him. To hear this man raise his voice, was totally uncommon.  He was a man of few words and soft spoken.
But it was me, and my safety that he cared about .He wrestled that motorbike like it was a bull. I bounced off his tummy.  God only knows what might have happened to me that day. I was all of 10 years old.
 I have never forgotten that day or Tommy. I had a black eye . He was black and blue from his chest down. I can't imagine in this day and age of anyone else that would do that. Anyone else that would care enough to straddle a motorbike going at least 30 miles an hour. 
I never saw Tommy Lee after that as I moved to Texas with my mom. I asked about him through the years and heard he was happy , he was the father of a big beautiful brood, and his wife was as precious as ever. No Doubt he was a wonderful father & husband.
I am blessed to have had him in my life. My heart goes out to his family and his friends. I thank God for what little time he was in my life and for the memory that has been in my heart for all of these .
years &  will remain so, forever. 
I just wanted to share this as  after nearly 45 years it feels like yesterday . God be with you.

The best friend anyone could have.Tommy was a great daddy to his kids and loved them dearly.In his younger days he loved to hunt with FD Channell no matter how cold or wet it was he would be in the woods. OLE Man you are surely gonna be missed by all.
