

Bruce Joseph Banks, 47, passed away due to heart failure on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, in Twin Falls, Idaho. He was born February 18, 1966, in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Leo Joseph Banks and Joyce Seipert Banks. He married Deborah (Debi) Ann Barker, February 29, 1996, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
Bruce grew up on the family farm in the Ivins area near Bancroft in Caribou Co, Idaho. He loved working on the farm and learned to work at a very early age. He was active in 4H horse and fat beef programs, then he went on to FFA livestock programs and his senior year of high school he received the award of FFA District Star Farmer. Bruce went through the scouting program and enjoyed all the activities they offered earning the Eagle Scout and went to the National Scout Jamboree in Virginia.
He graduated from North Gem High School in Bancroft, Idaho. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy from Boise State University, a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness from Utah State University, and was a Graduate of Western States Agricultural Banking School. He has worked in Banking since he graduated from the Utah State University. His current position was as a Vice President and Regional Credit Manager with Zion’s Bank in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Bruce was a wonderful father and husband. He loved doing things with his family such as camping, boating, both snow and water skiing, hunting, white-water rafting, many 4H projects, and working with horses.
Bruce was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and he has held many positions in his ward and stake, including Gospel Doctrine Teacher, Scout Master, High Councilman, Counselor in the Bishopric, Branch President, and Young Men’s President and Secretary.
Bruce was preceded in death by his younger brother, Bradley James Banks; grandparents, Leo and Veneta Banks, and Cleon and Dolly Seipert; and an uncle, Lloyd R Seipert.
He is survived by his wife, four children: Natausha Rose Banks, Brynlee Jo Banks, Sterling Joseph Banks, and Stetson Duane Banks, all of Filer, Idaho; parents, a sister Kristy Jane Hopkins (husband Wade), and father and mother-in-law Duane and Ann Barker. Also surviving are many brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Funeral services for Bruce will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Filer LDS Stake Center, 841 W. Midway in Filer, Idaho with Bishop Jerre Tews conducting. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Filer LDS Church, 841 W. Midway in Filer as well as from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Saturday morning at the church.
Services are under the direction of Trent Stimpson and staff at White Mortuary, Chapel by the Park, Twin Falls.
