Carol Jean Motzner

Carol Jean Motzner, 75, of Twin Falls passed away February 11, 2012 at River Ridge Care Center in Twin Falls, Idaho. Carol was born November 19, 1936 in Russell, Kansas to Doris L. McCoy and Clarence “Nick” H. Motzner.

Carol was an avid reader and often seen walking to the public library in the summer months with her bag of books. Her life revolved around her family and mainly her nieces and nephews. She was active in her church and spent many days helping out in the gift shop, and later spending Saturday mornings working with the ladies of the LWML Quilters tying quilts for anyone in need.

Carol spent the latter years of her life at River Ridge Care Center with her mother, where they were known as the “Motzner Chicks”. Carol always had a smile on her face and a big “Hi” for everyone.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry Motzner.

She is survived by her brother Gary D (Ellie) Motzner of Filer, ID; a sister Judy (David) Montgomery of Twin Falls; Sisters-in-Law Diane Motzner of Twin Falls and Linda Grimes of Boise. Nieces and nephews include Gary S Motzner of Twin Falls, Tiffany (Mike) Underwood, Larry Grimes, Niki Thomas, and Shelley Motzner all of Boise; Cody Motzner of New Jersey, and five great-nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Carol’s friend Alta who befriended her at the care center and helped look out for her well-being; as well as to the staff of River Ridge Care Center.

Donations may be made in Carol’s name to the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Twin Falls.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 2:00pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Twin Falls with a visitation beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Services are under the direction of Lance Cox and the staff at White Mortuary “Chapel by the Park.”
