Dan was born on Halloween in 1945 on the Stricker Ranch. He followed in his father’s footsteps and began farming at the age of 19.
For years as a kid, Dan had his eye on the pretty neighbor girl, who he thought was so sweet. In June of 1967, he and that girl, Charlene Groves, tied the knot. They were married 47 years.
Dan and Charlene farmed side by side for more than 30 years on Orchard Drive. There, they were blessed with their three children, Mitzi, Mynde and Justyn.
Many winter weekends were spent with the family snowmobiling in the South Hills. Dan’s knowledge of those mountains also led to an opportunity to groom trails, which he loved.
When farming came to an end, Dan and Charlene moved off the farm and Dan started a new career driving truck, which he did for more than 15 years.
Dan and Charlene had a wonderful life together. Their special get-away was to spend time at the Oregon coast. They also loved to spoil the grandkids, even as far away as Montana and Kansas.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Charlene, his wonderful daughters, Mitzi (Wayne) Francis of Superior, Montana, Mynde (Ron) Brock of Manhattan, Kansas, his beloved son, Justyn (Marie) Anderson of Twin Falls and grandchildren, Korey, Kayla, Sammi, Kyler, Alee and Colt, and great-granddaughter, Keagan. Dan is also survived by his two sisters, Betty (Jim) Prunty and Mary (Don) Norris, both of Twin Falls. He is preceded in death by his parents, Babe and Floyd Anderson.
For friends and family, a viewing will be held on Thursday, January 8, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at White Mortuary, with services to follow on Friday at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
