

Denzil William Space, Jr. (Denny) was born to Denzil and Dorothy Space October 1946. Denny’s father was a military man so he and his family lived at numerous posts in the US and overseas. Denny graduated from the Manneheim High School in Manneheim, Germany in 1965 and then joined the Army soon after graduation. He did a tour in Viet Nam. After the Vietnam tour he left the Army and was in the Navy Reserves and then the Army Reserves. In 1975 he rejoined the Army and served in different US posts, but mostly in Germany. He was medically discharged in May 1991. He worked several private sector jobs but was forced to medically retire.
Denny and Leona were married in May 1985 and eventually retired in Bremerton, WA. Denny proudly earned his Bachelor Degree in 1989 from the University of Maryland.
Denny is survived by his wife, Leona; daughter, Dana Space, Granddaughter, Rebecca Carothers-Cody, Grandson, Kyle Austin, Great Grandson Devyn Carothers. He is also survived by his brother, Harry Clay and Sisters – Leslie Wheeler and Toni Lapp (Mike). Denny had numerous nieces and nephews who all held a very special place in his heart.
He was predeceased by his parents and a special Aunt and Uncle, Les and Thelma Hansen.
He was a member of the Central Valley Church of Christ.
Denny was interested in electronics, games/puzzles and reading was a joyful time for him. He even taught himself to quilt and made a number of beautiful quilts.
A funeral service will be held June 9, 2014 at 2 PM at White Mortuary “Chapel by the Park” with military services at Sunset Memorial Park.
