Richard Murphy Frederickson 1928 ~ 2018 of Salt Lake City, Utah died at age 89 in Meridian ID, April 1, 2018 due to age related health issues. He was the first born on December 2, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John C. Frederickson and Leona Murphy. June 16, 1953 he married and was sealed to Bernice Hansen in the Salt Lake Temple. After her passing he married his high-school sweetheart Barbara Cypher March 16, 2007 and was sealed to her in the Manti Temple. He grew up in Salt Lake City, UT and later Twin Falls ID where he graduated from Twin Falls High School. He attended the University of Utah, served an LDS mission in Nebraska and had an Honorable Discharge from the Air force as a Surgical Technician. He worked with his father at the Frederickson Ice Cream & Candy store in Twin falls Idaho. Retired from Hercules Inc, (ATK) after more than 30 years of service working with computers as a system annalist. He was on the ski patrol at Sun Valley ID. He enjoyed the outdoors as an avid archer, hunting, fishing, camping and running. Hobbies - making candy, fletching arrows, working on cars and mining stone for the fireplace, a man of all trades. He spoke eloquently, had a keen mind, we will miss hearing the stories of his life experiences. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and was a true friend to his many acquaintances. Shortly before he died he said: "I will see you again at another place and time".
Preceded in death by his wife Bernice and parents, his sister Alice Brown, step-mother Zelpha. Survived by his wife Barbara, children R. Bryan (Raelynn), Chris Ann, Karen Bangerter and Jane (Darron)Thorup, step-children Bruce (Kim) Baisch, Rocky Baisch (Dina Froehlich), Cindy (Scott) Ritchie, Juli (John) Austin, Curtis (Yohana) Baisch, Bobbi (Gary) Moore, 19 Grandchildren 16 Great Grandchildren, step-mother Bonnie, brothers and sister H. George (Mary), Robert J. (Arletta), John R. (Annette), Jean Ann Shupe, Kent R. (Sharon), Grant F. (Valetta), Dennis R. (Kathy) and Mary Thoall.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday April 7, 2018 at the LDS Twin Falls West Stake Center 667 Harrison St., Twin Falls ID. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will follow at Hazelton Cemetery 1980 E. 850 S. Hazelton, ID 83335. Services are under the direction of White Mortuary, Chapel by the Park.
