1921 – 2011
Ula Keller Cutler, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep from natural causes on April 19, 2011.
Ula was born October 28, 1921 in Mink Creek, Idaho to James Leo Keller and Jennie Sophia Erickson Keller. After losing her father at age four and her mother at age thirteen, Ula grew up with her cousins. Ula married Keith McClaren Cutler on December 15, 1941. They are the parents of three children. Following Keith’s death, Ula married Morton Cutler on March 8, 1961. They were later sealed in the Logan, Utah Temple on March 6, 1982. They are the parents of one child.
Ula was a happy, people-loving person who enjoyed passing time with friends and family. She served several years as a volunteer in the Magic Valley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and felt tremendous joy in their lives and accomplishments, posting their photos in her home and introducing them to her many friends whenever she had the opportunity. She was always an optimist and would often hum a happy tune and present a ready smile. She enjoyed being outdoors and regularly suggested that the family gather for picnics, play and spend time together. Ula also had a strong testimony of the of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and while less able to move around in her later years, was very happy and excited to have a Temple close to her home and in view of her front window. Ula loved all of her children with a pure and unconditional love, and she will always be remembered for having a ready ear and an encouraging word. Mom, we love you and will miss you dearly, and we look forward to being united again with you in the eternities.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husbands Keith Cutler and Morton Cutler. She is survived by her children Charles Leo Cutler (Carolyn), Terry Lynn Thode (Brad), Katharine Ann Gibson (George), Jeffrey Morton Cutler (Chantel), nine grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to all of Ula’s caregivers at Wynwood Brookdale Senior Living Center for all of their help and kindness, and for friends and ward members for their loving service.
A viewing for friends and family will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23rd, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 847 Eastland Drive North, Twin Falls, ID.
